Where are you located? Florissant, CO How did you come up with the name for your business and tagline? I love Colorado and wanted to use something about the mountains in my name and Pikes Peak is the predominant mountain here, so I tried to leverage part of that name. So I got a double meaning off of that. I wanted PEAK ASSISTANCE, but someone in Australia had it, so I couldn't use that. What made you decide to become a VA? I have a strong desire to work from home and just couldn't find a company to pay me to do so; therefore, I knew I was good at Admin and support work and once I found out there was a legit industry that combined working from home and what I was good at, I wanted to run with it! What is your No. 1 goal as a VA and what steps are you taking to achieve that goal? To be successful! I want to make a living with my VA business. I have taken the Get Clients Now! program with Cheryl and am working on my marketing strategies. Do you offer a niche service or general VA services? I offer general VA services at this time. What service(s) or niche do you specialize in? I do not specialize in anything in particular right now. What was the best advice you were given about starting your business? Not to get discouraged. How are you currently marketing your services? Currently, word of mouth and my website. I am working on the Get Clients Now! program so I plan to add more marketing efforts, but not sure what they are right now. What has been the best marketing vehicle for your business? I'm still starting out, since I don't really have my marketing strategy complete, I don't have a best vehicle yet. What skills and experience do you think are most important for a VA to have? Perseverance and knowledge of what you do best, that you can offer other people. What advice would you give someone just starting a virtual assistant practice? Just what people have told me...don't get discouraged and keep your dream within reach. Tell us about yourself. I am originally from Long Island, NY, moved to Georgia for college, then to Illinois and now in Colorado. I love the mountains, the cold and the snow! Oh yeah, and the lack of humidity here is wonderful!! I used to love crafts and fitness activities. However, I've been away from both lately, but hopefully will get back to them. I have a wonderful husband and married for one year. We do not have any children, but may in the future. However, we do have 5 total cats (3 mine and 2 his). |
